Catering management technology firm, Zupa, has appointed Scott Brown as Senior Business Development Manager to spearhead its strategic partnerships internally and externally, as well as support future business growth. For the last 16 years, Brown has been responsible for business development at Civica with its Saffron catering management solution. Prior to that he gained extensive experience in operational catering, originally training as a chef in the mid 1980s before moving into operational management with Compass Group, and then heading up various other senior roles with independent contractors.

More latterly at Civica, Brown worked in a hybrid role where he was responsible for securing new business as well as senior account management on strategic accounts across the UK and globally (including Compass Group covering healthcare sites in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa as well as the UK). Brown also worked closely with leading global facilities management company ISS, on delivering a paperless kitchen solution for 400 business and industry Kanteenas in Norway.

In his new role at Zupa, Brown will be instrumental in ensuring Zupa achieves its ambitious revenue and market share goals. With his extensive experience and knowledge of the wider hospitality industry, he will also contribute to the development and growth of Zupa’s best in class catering management platform, Caternet, as well as support the company to deliver it’s vision.

Brown is looking forward to taking on this new challenge: “Zupa is changing rapidly as a business and the prospect of becoming a key part of the team that takes the company to the next level, is thrilling. I’ve been so impressed by the team and their customer-driven approach. It’s rare to find a company that is so united in terms of values, vision and community; everyone is rooting for each other and I simply had to be part of it.”

Ollie Brand, CEO at Zupa added, “We are thrilled to have Scott on board. From the first conversation, we connected and I felt confident he would make a great addition to our growing team. His core values are aligned with us as a company and he is a true hospitality operator, with amazing experience and industry insight to boot. Scott’s new role will be instrumental in supporting us to become the most customer centric business in the industry, and I can’t wait to see the impact he makes on both business and client outcomes.”
